Your 90-minute appointment with your dentist includes a comprehensive examination to check your teeth, lips and gums. We’ll also take bite-wing radiographs (x-rays) to check underneath the gums, and look for any signs of gum disease. You’ll then be introduced to your hygienist for a professional clean.

A comprehensive check-up & clean on your first visit includes:

  • 2 dental assessment x-rays (if required)
  • Treatment planning
  • Digital imaging
  • Professional clean and polish
  • Periodontal charting
  • Oral hygiene instructions

In this case, the same cancellation fee will apply. We will do our very best to reschedule your service for another time that is convenient to you.

By booking an appointment with us you agree to our cancellation policy.

The costs of dental services are not covered in the same way that other health services are covered by the Australian Government. Medicare does, however, pay for various essential dental services for children of eligible families under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS).

The CDBS pays $1,026 over 2 calendar years for children aged 0 to 17 for basic dental services, including exams, x-rays, cleans, sealing cracked teeth, fillings, root canals and extractions. It does not cover orthodontic or cosmetic dental work or any dental care provided in hospital.

Adults with a health care or pensioner concession card may be eligible for public dental care through Dental Health Services.

If you're seeing a new dentist for the first time, they'll want to check your mouth in detail to understand any oral health or orthodontic issues you may be dealing with. You should also provide all relevant details of your dental and medical history, including any medications you're taking, as this could help your dentist to plan suitable treatments.

EVP Dental is not a bulk-billing dentist, however we participate in various Government-funded oral health schemes that may allow you to access subsidised dental services, such as the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). We also accept Department of Veteran’s Affairs Gold cards and White cards that may cover treatments including dental check-ups, cleans, fillings, denture relines and repairs and treatment for injuries or conditions.

X-rays provide your dentist with a bigger picture of your oral health.

They help show the condition of your teeth, its roots, your jaw and facial structure. X-rays reveal any hidden decay under the gumline and are essential in the planning and preparation for restorative dental care.

At EVP Dental, our digital radiographs and bitewing x-rays use very low doses of radiation. If you have concerns about x-ray exposure, please talk to your dentist about why an x-ray might be recommended and what alternative options may exist.
